What is the future for our bathrooms?

Bathrooms have pretty much stayed the same in terms of style and technology until the early 2000’s when countries in Asia decided to re-invent the standard bathroom facilities to be more luxurious. The smart technology trend also appeared in this era, with many people installing programmable thermostats and automated landscape lighting. Home owners love technologies that will help save them a few pennies in the long term, whilst also helping the environment, improving safety and just looking great. With more and more high-tech products becoming available to customers we have listed some of the newest ones here for you.

Touchless bathroom technology:
Automatic, movement activated sinks and toilets have been around for a while in public toilets but they are now becoming popular in homes too. By having touchless features that turn on taps and flush the toilet it fights the build up of bacteria and germs in bathrooms. Touchless facilities are easy to use, and because they turn off when there is no movement, they may also save water in your home too.

High-tech products:
Heated toilet seat – in countries such as Korea, this is an important feature at this time of year when temperatures can drop below -10 degrees. Although our temperatures don’t go quite as low, it would be nice to know that you don’t have to seat on a freezing toilet seat when you wake up in the morning.

Paperless toilets – bidet style toilets have already immersed in countries in Asia and they have now reached Europe. Many people regard them as a much more hygienic and eco-friendly toilet option and aren’t too pricey either.

Mood enhancing lighting – coloured light therapy is classed as a popular healing method, that helps balance the mind and body. You could fit colour changing LED lights around your bathroom so you can relax at any time.
